Final Lecture in the 2025 series and Open Morning

"Fixing or Unravelling the Self: The idea of change in psychotherapy" is an in-person workshop given by Dr Sally Sales.

We live in a time where short-term, solution-focused therapy has become the most popular form of psychological help both within and outside of the NHS. Longer-term therapy is now rarely on offer because it is too costly in terms of time and money. In this workshop, we will think about the different kinds of help that short-term and long-term therapy provide and ask the following questions:

Do we go to therapy to be fixed?

How does staying longer help?

The second part of the workshop will serve as an open morning and introduction to the SSCP clinical training in psychoanalysis based in Truro, with time for questions and discussion about the course content, the training process, and how to apply.
